COMPLETE FOUR LINK REAR SUSPENSION – FORD BRONCO 4x4

The complete Four Link rear suspension system for Ford Bronco 4x4 was developed by Collino as a full replacement of the original rear suspension, retaining only the factory differential. The entire suspension system is designed from scratch, featuring a Four Link configuration with coil springs and shock absorbers, providing approximately 4 inches of lift.

This system eliminates the limitations of the factory rear suspension, delivering precise axle control, optimized geometry, and significantly improved handling both on-road and off-road. The result is a taller Bronco with superior stability, traction, and predictable behavior under all driving conditions.

The assembly was conceived as a completely new system, where every component plays a specific role in controlling axle movement, eliminating unwanted flex and unpredictable reactions commonly found in traditional setups.

FOUR LINK SYSTEM DESIGN

The Collino Four Link rear suspension precisely controls axle position in both longitudinal and lateral directions, maintaining stable geometry during acceleration, braking, and load changes. This design improves suspension travel and significantly enhances traction, especially on lifted vehicles.

The system operates with coil springs and shock absorbers specifically selected for this configuration, providing progressive response, improved ride comfort, and superior rear axle control over uneven terrain.

COMPONENTS AND CONSTRUCTION

All mounting points, links, brackets, and reinforcements are engineered and manufactured by Collino and installed on the vehicle chassis, fully replacing the original rear suspension. The factory differential is retained and correctly integrated into the new Four Link system.

The geometry is designed to work with approximately 4 inches of lift, maintaining correct differential angles and stable behavior under both acceleration and deceleration.

COMPATIBILITY AND TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS

This rear suspension system is designed as a complete package, using coil springs and shock absorbers matched to the lift configuration. When combined with the Collino front suspension system, it delivers a balanced and coherent overall vehicle setup.

As a full rear suspension conversion, this system dramatically improves stability, control, and safety compared to the factory design.

REAL-WORLD DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING

This type of development reflects Collino’s engineering philosophy: designing, manufacturing, and testing suspension systems under real driving conditions, both on-road and off-road, to deliver robust, reliable, and proven solutions.

INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS

Professional installation is strongly recommended. Once installed, the overall vehicle geometry should be checked and adjusted as required to ensure proper operation.

NOTES

Coil springs and shock absorbers are selected according to vehicle configuration and are not part of the original equipment. The system is designed for approximately 4 inches of lift.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Reinforced Pivot Drop Brackets:
The kit includes heavy-duty brackets for the I-Beam pivot points, designed to be installed on the original crossmember using factory locations. These brackets are longer and more robust than OEM units, compensating for the increased coil spring height. They are optimized for 440mm (uncompressed) coil springs—equivalent to a 4-inch lift—and include built-in track width correction.

Pitman Arm Conversion Kit:
To eliminate steering geometry issues, the system includes a kit to modify the original Pitman arm. This robust design relocates the drag link approximately 4 inches lower, maintaining correct steering angles on lifted vehicles. Note: Installation requires cutting, welding, and direct measurement on the vehicle.

Innovative Radius Arms:
Our radius arms (radius arms/wishbones) feature a groundbreaking design that utilizes original factory mounting points and bushings. They feature built-in caster correction to maintain proper front-end geometry. These components represent a technical innovation on an international scale.

Chassis Reinforcement:
The assembly is completed with a lower transverse reinforcement brace that connects both radius arm mounts beneath the powertrain, significantly increasing structural chassis rigidity in a high-stress area.

COMPATIBILITY & TECHNICAL SPECS

• Requirements: This kit requires lift-specific coil springs (440mm total free length) and shocks valved/sized for this specific travel.
• Integration: Designed to work seamlessly with original vehicle components for ease of assembly and long-term reliability.
• Reversibility: The system is completely reversible, allowing the vehicle to be returned to stock configuration without permanent chassis modifications, preserving the Bronco's historical value.

TECHNICAL VALIDATION & REAL-WORLD TESTING

This system was developed through rigorous reverse engineering on a 1981 Ford Bronco. The prototype vehicle arrived with severe front-end issues and was transformed into a perfectly handling machine with fully resolved steering and suspension geometry.
Extensive on-road and off-road testing ensures a product that performs under real-world conditions. The development of our caster-corrected radius arms has been validated by industry-leading technical experts, reinforcing Collino’s commitment to innovative, engineering-driven solutions.

INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS

We recommend a thorough inspection of all suspension components prior to installation. A professional 4-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation to ensure optimal performance and tire wear.

PLEASE NOTE

Coil springs and shock absorbers are not included. These must be sourced as part of a lift system compatible with the 4-inch height and dimensions specified above.
