COLLINO ROADSTER CC-2 CHASSIS
Tubular space frame composed of a single structure with a front-engine layout and fully independent suspension on all four wheels.
It offers high torsional rigidity and correct suspension and steering geometry. The engine bay is designed to accommodate Ford small-block V8 engines and a compatible transmission.
The two-seat cockpit is completely isolated from the engine, transmission, driveshaft, and rear axle by integrated tubular structures and sheet-metal panels built into the chassis.
The complete chassis is fully welded and built from round and square tubing combined with formed steel panels. It is compatible with Ford Cobra-type bodies with a wheelbase of 2250 mm (±20 mm). The front suspension is fully assembled with control arms, bushings, ball joints, and mounts for twin-tube shocks and adjustable springs, though it does not include spindles, hubs, or brakes. The rear suspension is also complete, featuring hub carriers, control arms, mounts for twin-tube shocks and adjustable springs, bushings, and ball joints. This system uses half-shafts connected to a central differential unit to transmit power. A central structural bridge covers the transmission and driveshaft, increasing overall chassis stiffness. Mounting brackets are included for a Ford Sierra differential housing (optional). The chassis also includes brackets for the pedal assembly, seat belts, and seats, as well as a black steel sheet enclosure that separates the engine bay, floor, and rear section behind the seats. It includes supports for two individual roll-over hoops.
Optional products, quoted separately, include a complete steering system with rack-and-pinion, tie rods, and steering column; the special Collino three-pedal assembly with mount for master cylinder or brake booster; steering column; roll-over hoops; CRH shock absorbers with coilover springs and spherical joints; inner rear bumper; engine and gearbox mounts; aluminum cockpit paneling; seat brackets; leather-upholstered seats; steering-wheel quick-release hub; and steering wheel.
