The F600 Racing Shifter is a quick-shift system developed specifically for Fiat 600 race cars, designed for competition use where shift precision, driver ergonomics and safety are critical.

It can be installed in a centered position or offset to the right, allowing the driver’s seat to be moved closer to the centerline of the car. In race cars, this significantly improves passive safety in the event of side impacts or rollovers, while also enhancing driving ergonomics.

Operating concept

The shifter features a system of adjustable mechanical stops, specifically designed for racing use:

  • Forward and rear travel stops
    Prevent over-travel in 1st–2nd and 3rd–4th gears, improving shift accuracy and reducing the risk of missed shifts.

  • 3rd–4th gear gate stop
    Helps guide the lever naturally into the 3rd–4th gear line, making fast upshifts and downshifts more consistent during competition.

  • Reverse gear management
    To engage reverse, the 3rd–4th gate stop must be manually removed by the driver, preventing accidental reverse engagement during racing.

Cross-joint system and adjustability

The shifter is supplied with universal cross joints, allowing:

  • Lateral and longitudinal repositioning of the shifter

  • Absorption of angular misalignment between the shifter and the gearbox

  • Precise and smooth operation even with non-standard driving positions

The gearbox-side cross joint features a custom-machined interface that matches the original Fiat 600 gearbox selector shaft, ensuring proper compatibility and reliable operation.
