June 24: Driver’s Day. A craft of courage, art & memory.

No one remembers exactly when a car first slid through a corner to steal a few moments from fate. What we do know is that, since then, there have been those who chose to give themselves completely to that feeling. Drivers. Women and men who see in speed more than just a result: a way of inhabiting the world.

By: Collino Press

June 24 is celebrated in Argentina as Driver’s Day, in honor of the birth of Juan Manuel Fangio—the five-time World Champion from Balcarce who defined an era and transformed motorsport forever. His legacy is measured not only in trophies, but in the sacred fire he lit in thousands of hearts behind the wheel.

That fire continues to travel from generation to generation. And sometimes, it’s passed on in silence.

At Collino, we know drivers. Those who got their hands dirty in the family shop long before turning a single lap. Those who were the children of drivers and now give back to the track everything they once learned at home. Those who felt as kids that the roar of an engine could set the rhythm of their own lives.

Beppy and Leo Collino didn’t just grow up surrounded by metal and performance engineering. They also grew up watching their father race—a passionate Midget competitor who left a deep mark on the family’s story. That shared root is much more than an anecdote: it’s the foundation for how we understand motion, risk, teamwork, and the passion for doing.

Pepe’s story left a mark on the Collino brothers.

And although time has taken them down different paths—suspension work, shop floors, product development, or full days at the office—they all carry that distinct instinct inside, the one only those who’ve climbed into a race car can recognize in each other.

The social media tribute to Collino’s favorite driver, Vicente Cipolatti:

Today, on Driver’s Day, we want to honor not only Fangio or the historic names of motorsport. We want to honor those who race with an open heart—those who strap in knowing you don’t always win, but you always learn. And that, around here, we keep very much in mind.
